OAT #2
Victory! Success! Honor! Recognition! These are the gifts of the six of wands. Make the most of these opportunities as you retrograde your way into the future.

This is the 2nd installment of an ongoing, weekly series we’re going to try out here on the 1HP site called Oliver’s AfterThoughts. Each Friday morning I will post a card from the Afterthoughts tarot deck by Corrine Kenner. These tarot pulls will consist of a single card garnered by means of my attracting one infused with the energy of the Oliver collective, intended as its prediction of what to expect for the weekend / week ahead.

The Kenner Afterthoughts deck is based upon the concept of “what happened next?” in the scope of a classic tarot reading. In tarot, the cards in the spread show what is occurring. If you continue to pull cards thereafter you’ll unveil the history leading up to the shown events. But, then what? What can you, the conscious, 1HP creator expect moving forward? What is about to unfold? And, thus… After Tarot!

Let’s begin.

6 of Wands

Card of the hero, the 6 of Wands is here to confirm you as the patriarch of your well seeded plant-ation, with a lot in life is to have a lot.

Card Description (quoted from book):
Return of a conquering hero, fresh from conquest and victory in faraway lands.
He’s returning to his own people as a hero of a victory parade. Flags wave, music plays, and the sound of drums and bugles and horns fill the air. You can imagine the roar of the crowd and the clatter of the horse’s hooves. This is a parade, which means people are eating and drinking too. Vendors have set up booths and carts to sell beer and bread and meat to hungry revelers.

They’re celebrating, because their hero has won the war, and he has brought peace and prosperity back to them. There are no visible reminders of the struggle he overcame — only signs and symbols of victory, as the cheering crowd celebrates his success and their good fortune.

The hero wears a laurel wreath on his head, and he’s crowning the woman next to him with a wreath of her own. She’s his partner in victory, and she deserves the same recognition and acclaim.

Key Symbols (from book – as pertinent):

  • The laurel wreath is a sign of victory
  • The horse is a longstanding symbol of freedom, power, independence, and movement. A sign the hero is of nobility.
  • You have triumphed over obstacles and opposition, and you’ve proven yourself in battle.
  • You have the support of powerful allies.
  • While you celebrate, you’ll also have to prepare for the dark side of success.
Some of your newfound allies might claim credit for your victory. Some might be jealous of you. Others sill call on yu to return favors. Everyone will want a piece of yu and your success.
  • Keep a wary eye open for the opponents you vanquished, because they might come back for revenge.
    Be the hero.
You are the hero. Have always been. You’ve come into your own in recent weeks, battled cleanly and as fairly as any human can, and the reward is finding your purpose, your truth, and now all you need do is claim it and begin your new journey into the crowds of glory and git. Enjoy your prosperity and newfound peace, and be mindful that once you partner with yourself for the co-creation of the collective you become whole – ready to passionately partner with others in the most fulfilling adventure of a lifetime.
