OAT #8
Happy home. Happy family. Happy life!

This is the 8th installment of an ongoing, weekly series we’re trying out here on the 1HP site called Oliver’s AfterThoughts. Each Friday morning I post a card from the Afterthoughts tarot deck by Corrine Kenner. These tarot pulls consist of a single card garnered by means of my attracting one infused with the energy of the Oliver collective, intended as its prediction of what to expect for the weekend / week ahead.

The Kenner Afterthoughts deck is based upon the concept of “what happened next?” in the scope of a classic tarot reading. In tarot, the cards in the spread show what is occurring. If you continue to pull cards thereafter you’ll unveil the history leading up to the shown events. But, then what? What can you, the conscious, 1HP creator expect moving forward? What is about to unfold? And, thus… After Tarot!

Let’s begin.

 Ten of Cups

Known as the card of perfected success, the Ten of Cups is the card of family, unity and joy. It is one of the happiest cards in the deck. Whether you are married, partnered or coupled in another way, single surrounded by those you consider family, or any grouping between, you are destined to be filled with the thrills of love, of laughter, of life in the days to come.

Card Description (quoted from book):
A happy family gathers around a campfire as twilight falls and stars shine in the darkening sky. The fire is blazing. Father and son stare thoughtfully into the fire. A grandfather warms his hands. The mother and daughter are standing, and the child is singing for joy.

Their cozy home is in the background, behind a gently flowing stream. Overhead ten golden cups seem to shimmer in the arc of a colorful rainbow that arches across the entire sky.

Key Symbols:

  • Historically, a good marriage – one that turned out to be even better than expected.
  • The children symbolize the productivity that can result from a successful partnership. In an ideal marriage the couple will each enhance the other’s creativity.
  • The stream in the background is the river of life symbolizing the bond of energy and emotion that connects people in the “real” world.
  • The rainbow is a sign of a covenant, a sacred obligation.
  • Card of good luck and fortune.

Your family is your heart – all generations in every direction. Your sense of community is well-founded and you enjoy unbroken bonds with elders as well as the young ones coming up, keeping, holding, maintaining, and sharing the family traditions. You are happy.
