OAT #9
Let your magic with the cosmos commence!

This is the 9th installment of an ongoing, weekly series we’re trying out here on the 1HP site called Oliver’s AfterThoughts. Each Friday morning I post a card from the Afterthoughts tarot deck by Corrine Kenner. These tarot pulls consist of a single card garnered by means of my attracting one infused with the energy of the Oliver collective, intended as its prediction of what to expect for the weekend / week ahead.

The Kenner Afterthoughts deck is based upon the concept of “what happened next?” in the scope of a classic tarot reading. In tarot, the cards in the spread show what is occurring. If you continue to pull cards thereafter you’ll unveil the history leading up to the shown events. But, then what? What can you, the conscious, 1HP creator expect moving forward? What is about to unfold? And, thus… After Tarot!

Let’s begin.

 The Magician

The Magician is the master of the physical world. He channels cosmic energy and uses it to bend and shape reality, and embodies the promise and possibility of “As above, so below.” He is a conveyor of heavenly messages between worlds. Like seeds, the Magician drops sparks of wonder wherever he decides to point his wand. Step into your role as the Magician and step into your self.

Card Description (quoted from book):
A powerful magician has raised the energy of earth, air, fire, and water. All the elements are in play. A wand, cup, sword, and pentacle spin through time and space in a cosmic dance, like planets orbiting around the sun.

Just for fun, compare the magician card to the four Ace cards, and think about the connection between them. As it happens, the hands coming out of clouds in the Aces are actually the Magician’s hands, as he reaches beyond the veil to bring us gifts of power and wonder.

Key Symbols:

  • The four elemental props – wand, cups, sword, and pentacle – are the emblems of the four suits of the Minor Arcana and symbolize the four realms of existence: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical.
  • The lemniscate, the figure-eight symbol of infinity above the Magician’s head, shows that he’s an old hand at the art of magic –
including the mastery of time and space.
  • The yellow background color is a symbol of light and air, and the power of the mind to make sense of physical and spiritual existence.
  • The Magician’s white tunic represents a pure and innocent soul. .

The Universe waits to do your bidding – You know how to make others see just what you want them to see and have the power to mold and shape your reality. You are in complete control of your environment. You know how to keep the show moving, using talent, intelligence and imagination to create the world you desire. Begin…
