5 Crystals

Zachalias of Babylon, in the volumes which he dedicates to King Mithridates, attributes man’s destiny to the influence of precious stones; and as for the ‘haematitis,’ he is not content to credit it with curing diseases of the eyes and liver, but places it in the hands of petitioners to the king, allows it to interfere in law suits and trials, and proclaims also that to be smeared with an ointment containing it is beneficial in battle.

Pliny the Elder (23-79 CD),
Natural History, Book XXXVII

Well, then, if Zachalias is any indicator of the strength and wisdom followed by those of the Royal Court of King Mithridates of the Roman Empire, 1st century CE, then I think we just discovered what’s missing in today’s legal practice. CRYSTALS and STONES. Crystals to temper moods. Stones to throw when crystals don’t work.

I can see it. A modern law office. Open. Airy. At least in the public spaces. Capitalize on that. And, when I say capitalize I leave open the interpretation of what that means to you.

Create an environment where clients get a dose of energetic chocolate with every visit by placing a huge crystal cluster in the lobby, and/or conference rooms and offices. Why? Because you can manage the energy of any space with tech like crystals, and methodologies like feng shui and aroma therapy – by means of candles, flowers, incense – though I can’t quite see candles or incense going over too well in a conventional law practice. Flowers are customary in the biggest of the big City firms, so that would work, and crystals can be explained away as artistic, classy, or even eccentric – all terms welcomed by any attorney.

And those giant crystal clusters are economically priced, too. The one you see pictured to the right was purchased by some folks I know in southern AZ. They got it at the annual Tucson Gem Show that comes through town every Jan/Feb. It cost less than a hundred bucks. Think about it. That’s quite reasonable when you consider the on-going, auto-pilot benefits.

How about a bowl of crystals in every room; a take away gift with each visit. You could decorate with a bowl af, say, all quartz crystals, or you could blend and mix and design based upon color, desired energy mix, or even by practice area; say, rose quarts in matrimonial for love, with black tourmaline for protection in divorce cases. Moss agate, for money and abundance, could be provided with each new business deal, and kyanite in probate in case clarification is needed from the decedent during the reading of the will. Novel, value added service at no additional cost. For a couple of dollars per person you could send your clients off with great legal advice and a pocket energy device.

What do you want to give them? Calm? Abundance? Patience? A night of romance? Protection from perceived evil? Confidence? Balance? All of that, and more, is possible with the gift of a palm-sized crystal. I carry stones in my pockets all the time. Rarely leave the house without one. If I want to clear the energy in my field I carry a clear quartz. If I’m interested in communication I carry kyanite. If I’m going to be around people whose energy may be a negative to my positive, then it’s black tourmaline.

If even one lawyer utilized the benefits of crystals it would only be a matter of time before the idea would catch on, and in a decade or three the practice of law would be as abundant, just practiced differently – with energetics as an exchangeable resource.

The purpose of this writing is to share a list of the five most commonly referenced crystals, and why you may wish to have ’em around.

The photo to the right is of some of my crystals and stones. I was just messing around and testing natural lighting effects so what you see here are those handhelds that I most often reach for. The rest of my collection is sprinkled about the home-office. All of the compounds listed below are shown in this photo, which made it easy for me to use it herein. The banner photo you see at the top of this page, and the version used on the blog page as a placeholder image for this article, contain four of the five crystals. I took that one while in San Francisco my last night there in my hotel room. So, you see I use these stones myself in my every day life.

Let’s talk about them…

Rose Quartz:

Rose quartz is for love. Unconditional love. Peace. Empathy. It draws loving relationships to you, heals past emotional traumas and provides support during crisis. Relationships are where you learn your soul lessons. Forgive yourself. Do not accept blame. There is no blame. Carry this stone when you wish to give off an air of romance, love, good will to the one you are near, and/or if you need support during emotional healing.

Clear Crystal Quartz:

Known as the “master healer.” Will amplify energy and thought, as well as the effect of other crystals. It absorbs, stores, releases and regulates energy. Clear Quartz draws off negative energy of all kinds. It balances and revitalizes the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes. Cleanses and enhances the organs and subtle bodies and acts as a deep soul cleanser, connecting the physical dimension with the mind. Enhances psychic abilities. Aids concentration and unlocks memory. Stimulates the immune system. Harmonizes all the chakras and aligns the subtle bodies.

Also known as rock crystals, clear quartz has a very strong vibration and excellent metaphysical properties, and are the easiest crystals to program.

Black Tourmaline:

Primary purpose – protection. It absorbs negative energy and affords excellent energetic protection, enhancing your physical vitality. Adaptive. Provides clarity of thought to analyze situations rapidly. Let go to being over cautious while remaining safe. When you are going to be in an environment, like a business meeting, Court, a stressful situation of any kind, black tourmaline reflects all negativity directed your way away from you so you do not absorb or carry it around with you thereafter. Negativity begets negativity just like joy begets joy. Keep the channels positive so as to generate more of the same good feeling your way.

Moss Agate:

Called the “gardener’s stone” due to its mystical properties of helping ensure a full crop after planting of your seed. In addition to a full crop, moss agate is said to bring general abundance, success, and prosperity. Known for its generation of financial abundance, mass agate is also known as the bankers stone, or the pentacles stone. Brings with it self-confidence and higher self-esteem. You want more money? More abundance? To project confidence? Then carry moss agate.

Blue Kyanite:

Stone of multi-dimensional communication. Fosters and fuels effective communications of all types. Known for its ability to bring all of the chakras into alignment. Kyanite is one of the very few stones that do not absorb negative energy, so it does not need cleansing (another stone is citrine – see below). Kyanite is also a very peaceful stone that gently rebalances one’s energy and promotes a healthy and peaceful way of being.

Three honorable mentions:
There are three additional crystals I find mentioned regularly by tarot readers, spiritual healers, reiki masters, and the like. I also appreciate the value in all three, and have two of the three in my personal collection.

Smokey Quartz:

The crystal of transmutational magic. A stone for karmic healing. Opens into different dimensions and brings powerful change. Go where others do not dare. Transmute the past. Turn your greatest fears into your strongest gifts. Take responsibility for your life and regain control from those who shouldn’t have it. Ground your efforts in the everyday, but retain contact with higher realms. Trust your abilities. Release yourself from old enchantments.

A powerful protector, purifier and natural tranquilizer. Calms the mind and balances extremes. Beneficial for addictive personalities that need to overcome obsessions of any kind and/or avoid over-indulgence. Balance of work and play. Allows spirituality to flourish with the release of self-defeating programs / programming. For the acquisition of honest verdicts and success in Court. Maintain your integrity while you let the Universe decide.

A stone of joy and abundance. Promotes calm. Helps you interact creatively with the world. This stone reminds that you spend too much time worrying about home, family and finances, and that you are an abundant being who manifests what you need. Fosters gratitude.

Welcome criticism. Allow emotional balance where feelings flow naturally. True abundance comes from within. If you nurture your desires you will bring joy through cleansing, and, thus activating new energies.
